DIY Self Build 240V Double Pole Camper Van Mains Hook Up Kit
We know, and you have probably seem them too, that there are loads of consumer units advertised as “camper” or “caravan units”. When 99% of the time they are nothing of the sort.
Just having an RCD and a MCB isn’t enough, they need to be the right ones to be safe and compliant.
As in all our kits, we only ever use double pole breakers. When using your camper in the EU, they tend to use a system where the natural is not earthed, having double pole equipment ensures a higher level of safety. Each outlet is also individually protected by their own MCB as per regulations.
The RCD is also correct being a Type A unit, and MCB’s with a B tripping curve.
