Conbini Sunday Sauce, 250ml
Conbini Sunday sauce is inspired by Japanese flavours. It’s perfect for lazy weekends when you want big flavours with little effort. Add a splash to a stir fry or drizzle over crispy chicken katsu.
This umami-rich sauce is like a cross between tonkatsu and teriyaki. It’s sweet and savoury with a hint of spice. To a tomato base, Conbini adds tamari, sake and mirin. Rice vinegar adds bright acidity to balance the other flavours.
For a speedy lunch, toss udon noodles in Sunday sauce and top with a fried egg. You can also use it to marinade pork or tofu before grilling.
Why not trade your takeaway for an Asian-inspired burger? Mix chicken mince with ginger, garlic and a dash of Sunday sauce. Form into patties and fry until cooked through. Serve in a brioche bun with slaw and pickled ginger.
